Jim MacMillan: Images of Conflict in Iraq

Free Event and Reception

Philadelphia Daily News photographer Jim MacMillan, a member of the Associated Press' 2005 Pulitzer Prize winning team for breaking news photography, will be speaking and displaying his photos.

This free program and reception is presented by the Philadelphia Conference and co-sponsored by the Philadelphia Daily News and WHYY.  For more information about the Philadelphia Conference please go to www.philadelphiaconference.org.

MacMillan, who recently returned from a yearlong assignment with the AP in Baghdad, will present his work covering the war. Three of his images were among the 20-picture package that won journalism's greatest honor this year.

From May 2004 until just a few weeks ago, MacMillan lived in the desert capital where car bombings and gunfire were a regular part of the average week. He spent weeks at a time traveling with coalition forces, risking his life alongside soldiers and creating powerful images conveying their experiences.
