Spanish Speaking Producer/Editor
Freelance Contract Position

Maryland Public Television is a leader in the production of broadcast programming for public television. MPT's local/regional television credits include public affairs, original performance, documentary and entertainment programs for the citizens of Maryland. Our state of the art television facility is located in Owings Mills, MD, in Baltimore County. The campus-like setting provides plenty of free parking and is an easy car commute from any location in the greater Baltimore metropolitan area.

We have an exciting freelance opportunity for an experienced Spanish speaking Producer/Editor to write, produce and edit Spanish language sponsorship messages. There is also the possibility of doing on-air voiceovers. Will work closely with external clients and agencies and MPT staff to produce on-air messages in Spanish for V-Me. V-Me brings a new kind of quality entertainment to Latino viewers through relationships with world-class content producers and a unique partnership with American public television stations.

The ideal candidate must be fluent in Spanish (Central American accent preferred for on-air voice work) and be experienced in all phases of television production, including shooting, scripting and editing using AVID Express. Two years experience as a Producer required, experience producing sponsorship messages or marketing materials preferred. Excellent communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced television environment essential.

Major Gifts Officer

Maryland Public Television is a leader in the production of broadcast programming for public television. MPT's television credits include public affairs, original performance, entertainment and documentary programs for the citizens of Maryland. MPT outreach activities, especially relating to education, arts, culture and history, take place in all areas of the state to further fulfill MPT's mission to engage, enlighten and entertain the citizens of Maryland.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Major Gifts Officer to join our team of talented fundraising professionals. Will identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward individuals with both an interest in MPT's mission and the capacity to give annual and special gifts of $10,000.00 and above. Will work collaboratively with MPT's staff to develop custom, donor-focused strategies to advance long term relationships with each prospect. Will participate in seeking planned and deferred gifts.

We require a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and at least 5 years of experience in non-profit fundraising which includes building and enhancing donor relationships and giving. Additional related experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Excellent written and oral communications skills and the ability to maintain and manage a large portfolio essential. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills essential. Knowledge of public broadcasting preferred.

We offer an excellent State of MD benefit package which includes a variety of health and dental plans, prescription coverage, optional 401K, flexible spending accounts and a generous leave plan. Salary: Upper $40's to $50.000.00, based on experience.

Telephone Fundraising Representatives

Maryland Public Television is a leader in the production of broadcast programming for public television. MPT's local/regional television credits include public affairs, original performance, documentary and entertainment programs for the citizens of Maryland. Beyond broadcast, MPT creates instructional videos, develops training and builds Internet sites that serve tens of thousands of students, teachers and child-care providers annually. MPT outreach activities, especially relating to arts, culture and history, take place in all areas of the state to further fulfill MPT's mission to engage, enlighten and entertain.

We are currently seeking Telephone Fundraising Representatives to join our team of talented professionals. MPT's telephone based fundraising program offers part-time, flexible positions for persons with outstanding telephone skills, some telemarketing or fundraising experience, and a friendly, outgoing personality! Our representatives contact members and other donors to explain the benefits of membership and to solicit membership, renewal of membership or other donations. These are part-time, evening, contractual positions starting at a rate of $8.00/ hour plus bonuses.
